Carol has Over 10 years of financial leadership and legal experience working in Kenya and the United States. Carol has extensive deal origination, negotiation, structuring and execution experience, having been involved in several landmark corporate finance transactions in Kenya. She served as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of K-Rep Bank, Kenya's first micro finance institution. Prior to this, she was the Corporate Director, Barclays Bank Kenya.
Carol has had considerable credit risk and corporate banking experience and training over her banking career, at both Barclays and Citibank. Her legal experience includes drafting the regulatory framework for unit trusts in Kenya. She currently sits on the boards of Trans-Century Ltd., Enablis East Africa, Institute of Economic Affairs, Wedco Investment Trust as well as Opportunity Kenya. She is a weekly columnist in the Business Daily newspaper and is a holder of Bachelor of Law from the University of Nairobi and Master of Law degree from Cornell University, USA.
